Message from the President

Gunnar Schalin President, Executive Board 2008 San Diego Supplier Development Council

Dear Members and Guests:

The purpose of our Council is to improve its members' procurement and subcontracting performance by creating opportunities to preview and network with small businesses. The Council is comprised of representatives from large prime contractors, government agencies, and various support organizations.  Small businesses are invited as our guests at monthly luncheons and special events throughout the year.

It is a privilege to serve as the Council's president once again.  I am very fortunate to be able to work with so many talented executive board members and committe chairs.   Of course, I cannot say enough about the accomplishments of our previous president, Rosmary Bullen, and the Board that she chaired.  During the course of my service, it is my desire to build upon the work of previous Boards and to champion the message concerning the importance of the small business programs and the vital role they are to play in the success of member organizations. 

Large Primes and Government Agencies: I invite you to become active members and attend our meetings to develop opportunities to do business with small companies thereby improving your small business procurement and subcontracting performance.

Small Businesses: I invite you to be our guests and encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to present your business capabilities to our Council members. Our regular monthly luncheon meetings provide an excellent networking forum for you to accomplish this.
